The tracer wire attachment is used to assist in locating the HDPE pipes after they have been buried in the ground.
a copper wire strip is co-extruded at the top of the pipes as per the picture below:
This attachment is placed just after the vacuum shell before the pipe enters the spray shell. The co-extruded highly conductive copper wire of 1 mm thickness is encased along the length of the HDPE pipe and this help the pipe to transmit a signal that can be easily received by a hand-held Locator.
